8 Wednesday Fan Art Tees and Big & Tall T-Shirts We Love to Death

Whether you love Wednesday Addams, as played by the inimitable Christina Ricci in the 1991 film The Addams Family, or as portrayed by Jenna Ortega in the 2002 streaming hit, there's no question that the death-obsessed girl has become one of the most recognizable pop culture characters ever to grace the silver screen.

According to theatrical lore, Morticia Addams named her daughter "Wednesday" after an old English nursery rhyme, which says, "Wednesday's child is full of woe." And the name seemed to fit: Wednesday Addams has dark tendencies, razor-sharp wit and sadistic streak. She's brilliant yet bitter and wears black clothes - like the custom-made black Nevermore Academy school uniform in the 2022 series - as she's "allergic to color," according to Morticia.

Wednesday has been a fan favorite amongst those who love the grisly and macabre, and it's no wonder that she has also captured the imaginations of artists from around the world, who were inspired to create amazing fan art. Take a look below at 8 of our favorites.

Gloom

It's a Wednesday and Doom mashup! In this fantastic artwork titled "Gloom", indie artist Boggs Nicolas draws Jenna Ortega as the morbid-obsessed Wednesday Addams in her iconic black and grey Nevermore Academy uniform standing in front of the school's ornate wrought iron gate. Thing is perched on Wednesday's left shoulder.

On the background, the text "Gloom" is drawn in the style of the 1993 first-person shooter video game classic "Doom."

On Wednesday We Dance

Did you see the dance scene in episode four ("Woe What A Night") that has gone viral? Jenna Ortega herself choreographed the dance, with the soundtrack 'Goo Goo Muck' by The Cramps. In an interview, Ortega mentioned that she came up with the dance by watching videos of '70s band Siouxsie and the Banshees, English-American singer Lene Lovich, German punk rocker Nina Hagen, French actor Denis Lavant in the 1999 film "Beau Travail" and "archival footage of goth kids dancing in clubs in the '80s."

Indie artist Zascanauta was inspired to draw this fan art titled "On Wednesday We Dance", featuring Wednesday Addams in a black dress dancing next to Thing on a portable record player. Musical notes wafted in the air next to the dancer.

Wednutsday

It's a Wednesday and Peanuts comic strip mash up!

In this funny fan art by indie artist rocketman, Lucy van Pelt is Wednesday Addams dancing on the roof top of the Nevermore Academy's Ophelia Hall dormitory. And, of course, the building looks just like Snoopy's dog house. A circular stained glass window of Wednesday and Enid's dorm room with its half colorful and half black-and-white spiderweb design is at the center of the art.

Thing is shown snapping his finger, and cemetery gravestones as well as trees and clouds silhouetted by the full Moon are seen in the background.

Emblem of the Academy

Indie artist glitchygorilla draws an intricately stylized crest of the Nevermore Academy in purple and yellow gold colors.

The emblem features a crescent moon, a star, a raven (which references Edgar Allan Poe's poem where the bird shrieks only one word, "Nevermore"), and 1791 - the year the academy was founded by Nathaniel Faulkner.

Stylized skulls, crown, ravens with purple-and-gold feathers and filigree decorates the symbol. The academy's motto, "Unitas Est Invicta", Latin for "Unity is Invincible" is written on a stylized ribbon at the bottom of the crest. A large "Nevermore Academy" is shown above and below.

Stranger Thing

In this cheeky mashup, artist Boggs Nicolas noticed the similarity between Thing T. Thing (yes that's the full name of the disembodied hand the Addamses call 'Thing') and the 2016 smash hit series Stranger Things.

Here, Thing is shown removing the last 's' from the Stranger Things logo to read "Stranger Thing." A spiderweb design from Wednesday's dorm room window is shown in the background.

Gothic Family

In this fan art, artist Andriu mashes up our favorite macabre family with America's favorite animated TV family.

Here, the Addamses are drawn in the distinct style of The Simpsons. Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday (holding an axe), Thing and the tied-and-gagged Pugsley are seen sitting down on the family couch - in a pose similar to Homer, Marge, Lisa and Bart Simpsons. A photo of Uncle Fester is seen on the back wall.

Playing the Cello

In episode one, titled "Wednesday's a Child Full of Woe," Jenna Ortega played the cello to perform "Paint it Black" by The Rolling Stones.

In this fan art by indie artist mommagorilla, Wednesday is playing the cello not with a bow, but with a large knife, and with Thing on her shoulder. Skulls, burning candles, and black ravens decorate the scene. The spiderweb window from her Nevermore Academy's dorm room is seen in the back, along with the words "Life is Too Short to be Normal."

Greetings From Nevermore Academy

In this stylized postcard design, artists Good Idea Ryan and DAObiwan collaborated to create a design featuring the characters from the series.

Wednesday Addams and Thing are seen on the right-hand side of the art, along with the school building in the background. In the center, we see "Greetings From Nevermore Academy" with various characters from the show including Principal Larissa Weems, Gomez Addams, Hyde, Morticia Addams, Bianca Barclay, Enid Sinclair, Edgar Allan Poe, Marilyn Thornhill and Eugene Ottinger.

The text "Nurturing outcasts, freaks and monsters since 1791" is at the bottom.
