When Fairy Tales Meet Hunger Cravings a Great Design is Born

We think the story of Ramunzel goes something like this…

When Ramunzel was just a wee bit of flour she was whisked off and placed in a tower by a grumpy chef. Overtime Ramunzel grew into a beautiful bowl of noodles. The grumpy chef would come often to visit. The chef would call up to her.

“Ramunzel, Ramunzel!

Let down your golden noodle locks!”

Ramunzel had beautiful and long noodle strands that shone like edible gold.  Ramunzel would let them down and the grumpy chef would climb up into the tower. Together they would have a hearty lunch made from a tasty broth. They would then spend the rest of the afternoon arguing about whether shio, shoyu, tonkoatsu, or miso was the best type of ramen. The end.

Ramunzel by Pepe Rodriguez is a tasty piece of art. The design is a play on the children’s story Rapunzel. The work features a girl, with a bowl for a face, leaning out of a stone window. The wistful female has long ramen noodles for hair. An egg and other food sit amongst the noodles like hair accessories. She holds her long noodle locks with a chopstick. A container of soy sauce sits next to her. Above the image is the word “ramunzel.”
